About this app
A 22-carat sovereign valued on its gross weight is overstated by more than 8%. Troy Stack never makes that mistake. Every figure in the app is fine weight × spot — the metal actually in the piece, at today's price. Your stack stays yours. Holdings never touch a server. The only thing the app fetches is the spot price, and that request carries nothing about what you own. KNOW WHAT YOU HOLD Pick a coin or bar from the built-in catalogue — Sovereigns and half sovereigns, Britannias, Philharmonics, Krugerrands, Maples, Eagles and more — and the weights fill themselves in, each one checked against its published specification. Or enter any piece by hand in grams, troy ounces or pennyweight, with any fineness or karat (carat). Gold, silver, platinum and palladium. Search, filter and sort as the stack grows. KNOW WHAT IT'S WORTH Melt value at live spot, in pounds sterling, euros, US, Canadian or Australian dollars, or Swiss francs. A price that's out of date says so. A metal with no price shows no total — never a zero. See how far spot and your stack have moved since the last day the app recorded a price, and the gold:silver ratio at a glance. KNOW WHAT YOU PAID Record each purchase with postage and VAT, and Troy Stack works out the premium you paid over melt on the day you bought — your average across every dealer, your best buy, and how far each piece has moved since. KNOW BEFORE YOU SELL The scrap and karat calculator weighs out the fine gold in a box of broken chains and odd earrings, takes off the stones, and shows the gap between melt and a dealer's offer. Know it before you walk in. KEEP THE RECORDS Allocation by metal, form or location. Value and fine weight over time. A log of every piece sold, gifted or melted, with proceeds and realised gain totalled by year. A printable Schedule of Precious Metals for your home insurer, on A4, carrying the valuation date and the spot prices used. CSV export that leaves out storage locations unless you switch them on. LOCKED AND DISCREET Face ID lock, on by default. Stealth mode hides every value, location and dealer name for when someone's looking over your shoulder. Locations are just labels — never geocoded, never sent anywhere. Back up to one encrypted file with a passphrase only you know. A LEDGER, NOT AN ADVISER No signals, no predictions, no buy or sell buttons. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, no purchases. Just what you own and what it weighs. Melt value is the metal's worth at spot, not what a dealer will pay. Troy Stack is your own record, not a professional valuation.
