Chainsmith FX is a professional guitar effects processor and Neural Amp Modeler host for Mac and iPad. Connect your guitar through a USB audio interface then build your signal chain visually. Load Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) A2 profiles of real amplifiers and pedals. Built-in NAM models include parametric models with live-adjustable Gain/Bass/Mid/Treble knobs. Browse and download thousands of free models directly from Tone3000 inside the app or import your own .nam files. Each model is automatically analyzed for frequency response, gain, compression, and more so you can search and filter by gain, bass, mids, and treble to quickly find the right tone. Stereo NAM processing with adjustable input and output gain, input calibration and normalization lets you dial in the perfect level. Impulse Response Cab Simulation Load any .wav impulse response for zero-latency FFT convolution cabinet simulation. Pair with NAM profiles for a complete amp + cab rig. Visual Signal Chain Build your rig on a drag-and-drop node canvas. Place any block in any order. Connect effects in series, split into parallel paths, recombine, route through a split band crossover, thicken your tone with a doubler, or add a Loop Switcher to A/B rigs with crossfade and trails. Need more flexibility? Nest a parallel, loop switcher, doubler, or split band block within another parallel, loop switcher, doubler, or split band block. Multi-Track Run up to two tracks at once, each with its own live input or audio file source and independent effects chain — blend a live guitar with a backing track, or A/B two complete rigs side by side. Studio Effects Shape your tone with on board effects. Built in effects include overdrives, fuzzes, boosts, chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, vibrato, auto and manual wahs, delays, compressor, noise gate, multi band Silencer, graphic EQ, many reverbs including classic, Uni Reverb, plate, Cloud, and Shimmer. Third-Party AUv3 Plugins Host compatible third-party AUv3 effect plugins directly in your signal chain alongside built-in effects. Plugin Delay Compensation keeps parallel paths phase-aligned automatically. Audio Files Record your playing directly in the app and build a personal library of audio clips or import an audio file for use as a backing track. Assign any file as a track's source and play it through that track's full effects chain to audition how new effects or NAM models sound against your own performances. While playing, adjust speed (0.25×–2×) and pitch (±24 semitones) independently from the transport bar and set up loop regions — useful for practicing along to a backing track or matching a reference to a different key or tempo. Presets and Scenes Save complete signal chain configurations as presets. Within each preset, create scenes to instantly switch between different parameter settings — perfect for clean, crunch, and lead tones in a single song. MIDI Control Map effect parameters to a MIDI CC, switch presets via Program Change, and control scenes from a MIDI controller.
