About this app
San Francisco doesn't have weather: it has microclimates, and a forecast for "San Francisco" is wrong somewhere in the city almost every day of the year. Microclimates shows you the difference and backs it up with raw data that you can see yourself. Per-neighborhood fog and weather, plus live and historical fog views. And the best signal you can get: webcams showing just about every angle of the Bay. RIGHT NOW One screen that answers the only question that matters before you leave the house: how much colder is the coast, is the fog holding or burning off, and which neighborhoods are socked in. Written out in sentences, not a wall of numbers. FOG TRACKER GOES-18 satellite imagery of the Bay Area, refreshed every five minutes and archived so you can scrub back through the last two hours, the last day, or the last week. Full color by default, or pick black and white by day and infrared after dark. WEBCAMS Around thirty live cameras: Mt. Tam, the bridges, the beaches, the coast, all in one place so you can see the entire Bay Area at a glance. WEATHER Coast and inland seven-day forecasts side by side and a live wind map. NEIGHBORHOODS Every San Francisco neighborhood on one map, colored by temperature, cloud cover, humidity, wind, or dew point. Tap one for its current conditions. WIDGET Coast and inland temperatures, the fog percentage, and where it is heading. No account. No analytics. No ads of its own, though a few of the live cameras play their broadcaster's ad before the stream. Nothing is collected about you. Data from NOAA GOES-18, CIRA/CSU GeoColor, the National Weather Service, and public webcam feeds. Microclimates is not affiliated with any of them.

• Choose your satellite picture. Tap the gear on the Right Now screen to pick B&W or Color by day, and Infrared or Color at night. The Right Now tile and the Fog tab both follow. • Color is the new default, day and night. • When the satellite feed is frozen, delayed or catching up, the Right Now screen now tells you.
