About this app
stop overthinking is for the moments when your mind won't stop. When you're stuck in thought loops, worrying about what might happen, or replaying a conversation at 3am, this is the app to open. It's built for one problem: thoughts that won't stop running. When it's happening right now Tap "I'm overthinking right now" for a three-minute guided session. It starts straight away and gives your attention somewhere to go while the spiral slows down. Unhook a thought that keeps looping Write the thought down in one sentence. Putting "I'm having the thought that…" in front of it gives you a little distance. Then turn it into one small next step, or park it for later. Park a worry and see how it turns out Pick a time to look at a worry again. When it comes back around, you note whether it turned out to be a problem. In a 2020 Penn State study, nine in ten worries never came true. The app keeps your own count. 21 guided sessions, two to ten minutes - Overthinking Relief: step back from a spiral - Thought Observation: watch your thoughts without getting carried off - Mental Declutter: clear some of the noise - Physiological Sigh: two breaths in and one long breath out, for calming down fast - Body Scan, Box Breathing, and quick resets for when you only have two minutes A journal for when your head is full 60 prompts in six groups: Unload, Soften, Ground, Reframe, Release and Settle. Unload is a plain brain dump for when you need to vent. The prompts change every day, and you can speak instead of typing. Breathing you follow with your eyes An animated guide for four in, six out, and a few other patterns. There's no audio, so it works in a meeting or on a train. Short reads on why the mind loops 14 two-minute ideas from "Don't Believe Everything You Think" and the clinical research that backs it up: metacognitive therapy, worry postponement and cognitive defusion. Check in and see the pattern Ten seconds to name how your mind feels and what's behind it. After a week you'll see when the overthinking tends to show up and what sets it off. Use it when you need it Skipping a few days is fine. Nothing gets locked or lost. Your entries and notes stay on your device. You're doing better than you think.
