About this app
What's new
Version 0.4.3 · Nov 5, 2026
CarPlay in the instrument cluster, iCloud for your cars and drives, oil pressure against the pump's target, a closer look at the 12 V battery and a session summary on track. • Instrument cluster: in cars that show CarPlay behind the wheel too, 4–6 large readings picked for the moment — warm-up, road or track — with alarms on top. More → Instrument cluster turns it off. • CarPlay screens: every car keeps its own. A car new to the phone gets pages made for it — no Diesel page on a petrol car — and the screen of the car before stays as it was. • iCloud: your cars, CarPlay screens, drive summaries, records and settings are kept in your own iCloud and come back on a new iPhone; drive logs too, if you choose. Comes with the Support Tachwire subscription. • Status: a new block on the Car tab — tyres against each axle's set pressure, the gearbox's own verdict, coolant and washer fluid, an oil dipstick and a service calendar with the distance or months left. • Transmission: a new screen with Gearbox and All-wheel drive tabs — the gearbox's clutch counters and adaptations, the front axle's share of torque, and the drive's before and after. • Siri: ask "How's my car in Tachwire?" — or about the tyres, service, fuel, oil, the 12 V battery and the last drive. • Oil pressure: shown as the pressure itself, with the pump's target as a dashed line on the drive's chart where the engine reports it; a lag is put in words instead of "0.0 bar". • 12 V battery: health and reserve in Ah and a plain "Replacement not needed" from the BMW battery sensor; the voltage at the battery itself after a long stand; far fewer false warnings. • BMW service norms: the 12 V battery and oil pressure are judged by BMW's own limits; tyre pressure is compared with a temperature correction, so a cold morning no longer turns it yellow; the diesel's oil level in mm against the engine's own range; service says "soon" four weeks ahead, as the car does. • Fuel tank: on BMW, the litres come from the tank sender, as the instrument cluster shows them, once the car has proven the reading over a few stops. • Intercooler: judged against your own car's norm in the same conditions. • Track: a session summary — the best possible lap from the session's best sectors, the spread and where the time goes — and a list of corners. • Splits: a CarPlay screen for acceleration runs that comes with the Support Tachwire subscription. One run gives every split at once (0–100, 100–200 km/h, 402 / 805 / 1,609 m), then a timeslip with records to share. Runs gather into sessions, so you see whether you got quicker. • No adapter yet: the first screen says which adapter to get, shows the demo drive and can remind you once. • Car pictures: more BMW lines and trims (3 Series, X3, X6, 7 Series, X7) with new pictures; BMW Individual paint can be picked by hand. Pictures for the CUPRA Formentor and Porsche Cayenne. • BMW and MINI: newer units are recognised — third-generation B48 and B58 engine units, DDE 9.56 diesels, the 7DCT gearbox and current electric BMWs; a MINI John Cooper Works goes by its own name. • BMW F-series tyres: pressures from the car's own tyre pressure unit where the stability control has none. • VW Group, Porsche and Ford: more readings on Audi, VW, Škoda, SEAT and CUPRA, the DSG gearbox's temperature among them; Porsche boost, oil, tyres and gear; Ford 12 V battery, tyres, range, oil life and particulate filter. • Kia and Hyundai: more readings — oil, gearbox, fuel litres, tyres and, on E-GMP electric cars, the high-voltage battery. • BMW: readings come in faster. • Clearer name: "Engine pushed hard" replaces "Engine under load". Support Tachwire, in More, is an optional monthly subscription. Readings, drives and screens stay free; subscribers get iCloud, Splits and car looks.
