Tracker Turtle

Take a photo of your meal and Tracker Turtle lists each food on the plate with its calories, protein, carbs and fat. Fix anything it got wrong, save it, and the day's total counts down from your target. Each morning you enter your weight and take three photos, and the app tells you whether you are on pace for your goal. MEAL SCANS • Photograph your plate and get an estimate of each food and its portion. • Tap a food to change what it is, such as white rice to brown or ground beef to ground turkey. The totals follow. • Take out anything that wasn't there, or type over any number, before you save. • Each estimate says what it assumed, and tells you when it is a rough guess. • For a meal you have already eaten, describe it in words and get an estimate the same way. FOOD LOG • See the day's calories, protein, carbs and fat against your targets. • Scan a barcode to look up a packaged food, or type the numbers in. • Log a food you have eaten before with one tap. • Set a daily calorie and macro target from four questions and your goal, or enter your own. The app shows how it worked the numbers out. WEIGHT AND TREND • Enter your weight on a number pad. It takes a few seconds. • Your trend is a 7-day average, so a single high or low reading does not swing it. • The Today screen turns green when you are on pace and red when you are behind or moving the wrong way. • Set a goal to lose, gain or maintain weight. The app shows how far you are from it and roughly when you will reach it. • A chart of your daily readings, trend and planned pace, from 30 days to your whole history. PROGRESS PHOTOS • The camera shows a faint overlay of your last photo of the same pose, so you can stand in the same spot. • Line each shot up with the previous one: move, zoom and turn it. • Compare any two photos of a pose with a slider. • Play a pose back as a timelapse over any date range and save it as a video. • Add photos from your library or for past days. PARTNERS • Add a friend or start a group with a code. Nobody can search for you. • See who has weighed in today, and nudge whoever hasn't. • A weekly score measures each of you against your own plan, so someone losing and someone gaining can compete. • Your weight is shown only to the partners you turn it on for. YOUR DATA • Photos are stored inside the app, not in your camera roll. • Photos are hidden by default and open with Face ID or your passcode. They lock again when you leave the app. • Optional iCloud sync to your own private iCloud database, so your history survives a new phone. • Optional Apple Health: save your weigh-ins to Health, and fill mornings you missed with readings from a smart scale or another app. • Export your history as a CSV file, or import one from another app. • A meal photo or description is sent to be estimated and is not kept. • A barcode lookup or packaged-food search sends that number or those words, and nothing about you, to Open Food Facts. • No ads and no tracking. Your weigh-ins, photos and food stay in your own iCloud unless you choose to show a partner. ALSO • A morning reminder that skips days you have already logged. • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets with today's weight, your trend and your streak. TRACKER TURTLE+ Tracker Turtle is free, with one weigh-in and photo check-in a week. Tracker Turtle+ is a monthly or yearly subscription that removes that limit and adds the food log, the barcode scanner and meal scans (20 a day). It renews until you cancel it in Settings, at least a day before the renewal date. The app needs an account, made with Apple or an email address.
