About this app

Learn Python by writing it. PyPrompt brings Python 3.15 to your iPhone and iPad, with courses that check your code, exercises to practice, and a notebook for your own ideas. Python is built in, so there is nothing to install or configure. LEARN STEP BY STEP Python Basics takes you from your first line of code to a task tracker in 74 short lessons. Each lesson changes code that's already there, so you see what every line does. Chapters end with a small project, and checks tell you the moment your code works. Your progress is saved, and the course stays beside the lesson so you can move on or go back. WHAT'S NEW IN PYTHON 3.15 Already know Python? A practical tour of Python 3.15, from lazy imports and frozendict to smarter error messages, with an example to run and a challenge for each feature. PRACTICE BY DIFFICULTY Over a hundred exercises, from easy to hard. Each one opens with the task, a function ready for your solution, and checks that tell you when you've got it right. AN ASSISTANT IN YOUR NOTEBOOK Ask the assistant to explain an error, draft a function or tidy up your code. You review every change before it's applied, and nothing runs until you allow it. In a lesson, it gives hints instead of answers. Use Apple Intelligence, or your own Claude or OpenAI API key. HINTS AS YOU TYPE PyPrompt checks your code while you write, powered by Pyright. Likely mistakes are underlined before you run, a function's parameters appear above the keyboard, and suggestions help you finish names. KEEP THE WHY WITH THE CODE Add Markdown notes between Python cards to explain an approach or build your own guide. A notebook's timeline lets you look back at earlier versions and restore one. MAKE SOMETHING USEFUL Fetch data from the web, draw with Apple Pencil, play sounds or run Python from Shortcuts. Your code runs on your device. PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF iCloud keeps your notebooks and progress on all your devices. Open Markdown files as notebooks, and share a notebook with a link so someone else can read it, edit it and run it when they choose. From your first print() to scripts you use every day, PyPrompt is your place to learn and think in code.

What's new

Version 2.2.0 · Nov 7, 2026

Learn Python in PyPrompt: • Courses: a new home screen with courses that check your code and remember your progress. Python Basics teaches Python in 74 lessons with a project at the end of each chapter, and What's new in Python 3.15 tours the latest features. • Practice: exercises sorted by difficulty, with checks that tell you when your solution is right. • Assistant: ask it to explain, create or edit code in your notebook, then review its changes. Runs on Apple Intelligence, or on Claude and ChatGPT with your API key. In lessons, it helps with hints. • New for scripts: play audio, use the clipboard, draw with Apple Pencil, build apps with buttons, sliders and forms, and ask for photos in input().
